FOX HAVEN G & CC - New 18 Hole Layout:

Hole # 1:

The first hole at Fox Haven is a very challenging Par 5.  This is the original number 1 hole from the old 9 hole layout.  With out of bounds to the left in the driving range and trees about 230-250 yards off to the right, a good straight drive slightly fading off to the left is what is needed.  The second shot will likely be a lay up in front of the green.  If your drive faded left and was about 275 yards or more, this will leave you with a long iron or maybe a 3 and 5 wood to a slightly sloping away green.  There is a pond to the left and the green is completely surrounded by trees.

Hole # 2:

A very challenging hole named after a very avid golfer at Fox haven.  This par three, even though the distance from tee to green, is very short, is Fox Haven's toughest par 3.  The green is rounded and is well bukered.  A high shot is needed to hold the green usually as this green is well drained.  Be aware that the wind above the trees will definitely have an affect on your ball.

Hole # 3:

This is a very deceiving hole again.  This is Hole # 5 from the original 9.  It is a short dogleg left and is reachable with an excellent drive over the trees to the right.  However, with trees down both sides and a bunker lining the right side of the fairway, an iron shot off the tee will usually leave you with about 150 yards to a good size green.

Hole # 4:

Most people rate this hole as the hardest at Fox Haven.  This is Hole # 6 from the original 9.  I well placed straight drive is needed to a very narrow fairway as there is a bunker on the right side and trees down both sides.  The green is slightly raised and any pin on this green is challanging.

Hole # 5:

This short par 5 is rated the easist hole on the golf course.  This is Hole # 7 from the original 9.  A straight dirve to the hill just off the righ of the fairway will leave most golfers a 3 or 5 wood or maybe even a long iron to a green surrounded by water on two sides.  If you want to play it safe, lay up and you will have a wedge to a large green in a slight bowl.

Hole # 6:

This is a new hole at Fox Haven and it is a straight away par 4.  The fairway is lined on both sides by aspen trees so one should stay out of these or you will pay dearly.  A bunker is placed in front of a raised green.

Hole # 7:

Hole # 7 is another new hole at Fox Haven and is a par 5.  One must be careful on the drive not to carry your ball into the water.  A 3 wood is good here.  An agressive player will go for the green in two but if long or left, your ball maybe in the water.  A lay up is the best play with a short chip to a kidney shaped green.

Hole # 8:

This is the original hole # 8 at Fox Haven, however, it was converted from a par 3 to a par 4.  There is water to the right and a well placed drive will leave you with a short iron to a nice bowl shaped green.

Hole # 9:

Hole # 9 is again a new hole at Fox Haven and one can watch this hole from the clubhouse.  It is a par 3 and the green is well protected by water and bunkers.  A well hit tee shot to a medium to large green will hopefully end upo with a 1 or 2 on your score card.

Hole # 10:

Hole # 10 is a new hole but utilizes part of the old fairway # 1.  A nice drive will leave you with a very long iron, 5 wood or 3 wood to a well sheltered green.

Hole # 11:

This hole is a short straight Par 4 reachable in one shot by the better drivers in the group.  This was hole # 2 on Fox Haven's old front 9.  The first green is in play and likely in 2005, the farther green will be the one used.  Your drive must be straight or off to the left slightly in order to avoid having to take your second shot over the trees on the right.  The green is the smallest one at Fox Haven and if it the conditions are very dry, your second shot will not hold the green.  Most of the time it is advantageous to bring the ball in high and land it slightly just in front of the green - it will likely release onto the green.  If the conditions are nice and moist, the ball will hold on the green if you fly it to the green.

Hole # 12:

This hole again is a straight Par 4 with very little trouble off the tee.  This was hole # 3 on Fox Haven's old front 9 but was slightly changed by pulling th tee box back to the lake.  The second shot is challenging as there is a pond just left of the green and always pin high.  The green slopes towards you so if you hit the green, it will usually stick.

Hole # 13:

This is the first Par 3 you will come to at Fox Haven.  This was hole # 4 on Fox Haven's old front 9.  Looks are definitely deceiving at this hole with a well sheltered green.  If you hit a high shot into this green, the wind will likely play havoc on it so it is more advantageous during windy days to bring it in low.  The green is somewhat of a tabletop and slopes towards you slightly, so if you hit the center of the green, it will usually stick.

Hole # 14:

Another new hole at Fox Haven.  One must be careful of the fairway bunker off the tee and trees on both sides of the fairway.  A good drive will leave a short iron to a well bukers kidney shaped green.

Hole # 15:

Another new hole at Fox Haven and a par 5.  A very large fairway with out of bounds to the left and trees on both sides is waiting for the long ball hitter.  It will leave you with a long iron to a well bunkered green on the edge of one of the man made lakes.

Hole # 16:

Again a lovely new par 3.  A good shot over water is needed to a large green with a bunker in front.

Hole # 17:

Another new hole at Fox Haven.  This par 5 should be a a good hole for the long ball hitters to really open up.  It will likely mean three shots to get to the green, however, the more agressive golfer can go at it in two.  The green is over 500 yards from the teee and there are trees off to the left.

Hole # 18:

This hole is rated as the toughest.  This was hole # 9 on Fox Haven's old front 9.  Off the tee you are looking at a small opening in the trees about 225 yards away.  There is also out of bounds to the left.  A good tee shot down the middle will leave you with a short iron to a green with water in front - don't be short and don't be long.
