FOX HAVEN G & CC - 9 Hole Layout:

Hole # 1:

The first hole at Fox Haven is a very challenging Par 5.  With out of bounds to the left in the driving range and trees about 230-250 yards off to the right, a good straight drive slightly fading off to the left is what is needed.  The second shot will likely be a lay up in front of the green.  If your drive faded left and was about 275 yards or more, this will leave you with a long iron or maybe a 3 and 5 wood to a slightly sloping away green.  There is a pond to the left and the green is completely surrounded by trees.

Hole # 2:

This hole is a short straight Par 4 reachable in one shot by the better drivers in the group.  The first green is in play and likely in 2005, the farther green will be the one used.  Your drive must be straight or off to the left slightly in order to avoid having to take your second shot over the trees on the right.  The green is the smallest one at Fox Haven and if it the conditions are very dry, your second shot will not hold the green.  Most of the time it is advantageous to bring the ball in high and land it slightly just in front of the green - it will likely release onto the green.  If the conditions are nice and moist, the ball will hold on the green if you fly it to the green.

Hole # 3:

This hole again is a straight Par 4 with very little trouble off the tee.  However, the second shot is challenging as there is a pond just left of the green and always pin high.  The green slopes towards you so if you hit the green, it will usually stick.

Hole # 4:

This is the first Par 3 you will come to at Fox Haven.  Looks are definitely deceiving at this hole with a well sheltered green.  If you hit a high shot into this green, the wind will likely play havoc on it so it is more advantageous during windy days to bring it in low.  The green is somewhat of a tabletop and slopes towards you slightly, so if you hit the center of the green, it will usually stick.

Hole # 5:

This is a very deceiving hole again.  It is a short dogleg left and is reachable with an excellent drive over the trees to the right.  However, with trees down both sides and a bunker lining the right side of the fairway, an iron shot off the tee will usually leave you with about 150 yards to a good size green.

Hole # 6:

Most people rate this hole as the hardest at Fox Haven.  I well placed straight drive is needed to a very narrow fairway as there is a bunker on the right side and trees down both sides.  The green is slightly raised and any pin on this green is challanging.

Hole # 7:

This short par 5 is rated the easist hole on the golf course.  A straight dirve to the hill just off the righ of the fairway will leave most golfers a 3 or 5 wood or maybe even a long iron to a green surrounded by water on two sides.  If you want to play it safe, lay up and you will have a wedge to a large green in a slight bowl.

Hole # 8:

This hole again is very challenging because of the water hazards that have to be crossed to reach this green.  The little peninsula on this pond is directly in line with a tee shot from the front tees and from the back tees, much of the shot will be over water.  The green is fair in size and will usually hold a ball.  Try not to be too short or to the right.

Hole # 9:

This hole is rated as the toughest.  Off the tee you are looking at a small opening in the trees about 225 yards away.  There is also out of bounds to the left.  A good tee shot down the middle will leave you with a short iron to a green with water in front - don't be short and don't be long.
